(July 29, 2004) - The Search Engine Marketing Professional Organization (SEMPO) was formed one year ago to help spread the good news about Search Engine Marketing (SEM) and to provide educational materials about the value of SEM strategies and tactics. As with any professional organization, there are those on the outside, or on the fringes, who think they can do it better. They are the trash-throwers and name-callers one might find at a football match in England. Soccer hooligans.

Barbara Coll, SEMPO President & Chairman of the Board, was the victim of such trash throwing lately when her organization's practices, board and reason for being were called into question by Mike Grehan, CEO of his own search marketing solutions firm, Smart Interactive, based in the UK.

This organization is just one year old, and Mike, by his own words, chose not to join at first, believing that SEMPO would be no different from other do-nothing professional organizations. When you come at us from a negative attitude to begin with, it won?t be hard to find fault with what we're doing."
